Kelly Massey is a former professional athlete who represented Great Britain with distinction on the world stage as a 400m runner.
A key part of the 4x400m relay squad, Kelly’s career highlights include an Olympic bronze medal, a silver at the Commonwealth Games, and a European Championship gold.
Her journey into athletics began thanks to a primary school teacher who spotted her potential early on – but the road to success hasn’t been without its hurdles. During what should have been her peak competitive years, Kelly battled a series of illnesses that disrupted her training and forced her to miss out on a place at the London 2012 Olympics.
But Kelly’s story is one of resilience, grit and sheer determination. Refusing to give up on her dream, she fought her way back to the top of the sport, ultimately realising her goal by stepping onto the Olympic podium at Rio 2016.
Now retired from elite sport, Kelly continues to inspire the next generation. Through her involvement with Inspirational Athletes and her powerful speaking engagements, she shares the real story behind sporting success – the highs, the lows, and the mindset needed to bounce back stronger.
Kelly’s message is clear: success isn’t always a straight path, but with self-belief, perseverance and the right support, we can all learn how to be the best we can be.
