In 2006 Anna broke her back snowboard racing, pushing herself at what she loved best. Determined not to be defeated, Anna decided to become a Paralympic Ski Racer.
After 3 years training, Anna came 6th in the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics. Four years later she finished 4th, 6th and 8th for GB in Britain’s most successful Winter Paralympic Team in the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games.
Anna currently works on the 2012 Young Leaders Project and Aspiring Minds project for the DKH Legacy Trust as an Athlete Mentor. Anna is now looking to inspire your audience by sharing her secret of what it takes to be the best you can be!
Anna loved sport, dance and being outdoors as a child but didn’t excel until she discovered snowboarding at 16. After getting her degree, she moved to the French Alps and later Japan to combine work and snowboarding, aspiring to compete for GB but struggling to afford to train.
Anna began competing in boardercross in 2004. In a boardercross race in Japan in 2006, she suffered a Spinal Cord Injury which left her paralysed from the waist down. Anna was distraught at the thought that she would never snowboard again but as soon as she discovered monoskiing, she set herself the goal of competing in the Paralympics. She achieved this only 3 years after first trying monoskiing.
