That is exactly what happened at Offenham C E First School, a small but vibrant primary school with around 100 pupils, when they invited one of our athletes, Jack Rutter, in for a day of motivation and movement.
We caught up with the school’s PE Lead to hear about the experience and the lasting impact it had on pupils and staff alike.

The Goal: Bringing Resilience to Life
Offenham wanted to reinforce one of their school’s core values – resilience. They were looking for someone who could speak honestly, connect with young children, and bring this concept to life in a way that felt real and relatable.
“Jack is the living embodiment of resilience,” they told us. “He really hit home to the children how important it is to never give up on your dreams.”
A Smooth, Teacher Friendly Booking Experience
We know how busy teachers are, so making the booking process simple and efficient is a priority for us. Offenham described their experience as “seamless”, with dates, times and a bespoke timetable all confirmed quickly and clearly.
Tailored Sessions that Hit the Mark
Ahead of the visit, Jack arranged a short Zoom call with the PE Lead to understand the school’s aims and tailor the day’s activities. From a powerful, engaging assembly to lively football drills on the playground, every part of the session was built around the children’s needs.

One of the highlights? Jack’s natural gift for storytelling.
He captured the children’s attention with stories from his own career – not just the triumphs, but also the setbacks he has overcome. The sports sessions were just as memorable, with children fully engaged, active and encouraged throughout.
“The children adored Jack. He was down to earth and emotionally intelligent, which meant he quickly built rapport and relationships with both staff and children.”
The Impact: More Participation, More Confidence, More Dreams
After Jack’s visit, the school saw an increase in interest in after school clubs and a higher demand for competitive sports opportunities. But perhaps even more importantly, pupils left the day feeling inspired to be the best version of themselves.
