Meet Jade Etherington – history-making Paralympian, blind mum, entrepreneur, former teacher, and Channel 4 Winter Paralympics commentator.
As Britain’s most decorated Winter Paralympian, Jade made history at the Sochi 2014 Games, winning four medals and becoming the first British woman to medal on snow, and the first Briton to win four at a single Winter Paralympics.
But Jade’s story stretches far beyond the slopes. Living with just 5% vision, she spent almost a decade teaching in secondary schools, championing inclusion and diversity in education and beyond. She’s also the founder of Love to Learn Stationery – a business launched during lockdown to support teachers and bring joy to learning. As a blind parent, Jade navigates motherhood with courage, humour and authenticity.
Jade speaks with honesty and passion on topics such as:
Thriving with a disability
Diversity in education and business
Blind parenting and resilience
Building a brand with purpose
Performing under pressure
Life beyond elite sport
Since 2014, Jade has also been a familiar voice on Channel 4, commentating at every Winter Paralympic Games, sharing her expertise and enthusiasm with viewers across the UK.
Whether on stage or screen, Jade connects with audiences in a way that inspires, uplifts, and challenges expectations.

What makes a team truly successful? Our athletes reveal the secrets behind high performing teams, whether it is a sports squad, a relay team, or a support network behind the scenes. They share how trust, clear roles, good communication, and a shared goal lead to outstanding results. Pupils will learn how these lessons apply not just in sport, but in school groups, projects, and friendships too.
Jade Etherington was fantastic at the NCS Graduation on Friday 4th September. The young people thoroughly enjoyed hearing about her experiences during the Paralympics and during her teacher training. Jade’s speech was very heart warming and inspirational for all of the young people attending. Jade was great at handing out certificates, taking her time to personally congratulate each and everyone of the young people receiving their certificates. It was an absolute pleasure meeting Jade and we would love to work with her again.
Jade was bubbly, entertaining and a great guest speaker. She was an inspiration to all and we were delighted she could join us on our special day. We would not hesitate to recommend Jade to anybody looking for a guest speaker at their event.
