These videos are a chance for our Inspirational Athletes to answers some quickfire questions, sharing a bit more about who they are, what drives them, and what sport has taught them along the way.

Elizabeth Cann is a professional Badminton Player representing for England for over 15 years and having competed in World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships.

Liz started playing badminton along with many other sports aged about six years and was coached by her mum.
When she was 19, Liz moved to Denmark for three years to develop her badminton further and that’s when she first started receiving proper technical coaching.

Elizabeth Cann has been a full time professional badminton player representing for England for over 15 years and having competed in World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships. In 2002, Liz not only won her first international tournament but gained her first England cap.

The most influential tournament she competed in was her first Commonwealth Games in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur. Career highlights include winning Commonwealth medals, reaching the top 20 in the World rankings and beating the World number seven ranked player. During her career Liz suffered many injuries and setbacks including slipped discs and several stress fractures but each time managing to bounce back better than before.

Liz retired fully from the sport in 2015 and since then has been doing badminton coaching as well as personal performance coaching where she helps individuals develop the right mindset to achieve their goals and become empowered.
